Friday Mornings with Leanne


Leanne will be having a chat with Rachel Lennon from Positive Women about their International Women's Day event next week.

Later on in the morning Alister Smith, the writer and director of The Petticoat Soiree will be in to talk about the show's run at the Butterfly Club.

Tuesday the 24th on JOY

Gary will be joined on the phone by Debra from Animal Aid who are holding a fundraiser to assist animals affected by the bushfires at 9:20am.

Christine and Elliot from the show, Black Jack Horner on at the Butterfly Club will be in at 10:10, and then at 10:30am 'Cooking With Fruits' with chef Nathan.

Swing by The Campervan at 5:40 to hear Bridget catch up with Leo Sayer who is headlining this year's Chill Out Festival. JOY will be broadcasting live from ChillOut Carnival Day on Sunday the 8th of March.

Monday on JOY

Monday morning just after 9, Gordon will be having a chat with John Wood about his role as as rogue sports agent, Bill Telford in a new six-part ABC TV drama, The Cut exploring the sometimes murky world of sports management.

Just past 10 on the show, Gordon will be joined in the studio by Sandra Parker from the production, Out of Light, that starts at Gasworks this week.

The pre weekend madness

Thursday and Friday on JOY daytime will be full of interviews for your listening indulgence.

On Thursday, JOY interviewing machine, Paul Anthony will be talking to Justin Eastcott about the Bluey Day Foundation's Bushfire Appeal, and Vicky Jacobs from the Butterfly Club show, Vicky Jacobs on Sundays.

Friday morning Leanne, enters some green territory when she'll be catching up with Doug who has arranged the indigenous presence at the Sustainable Living Festival.

And from 12pm Paul Anthony's back with author and former Neighbours scriptwriter, Luke Devenish, and Steven Talia from the Street Spawn Eco-Fashion Parade.

You might also want to head to the Rainbow Report's latest podcast, Hank Jongen from Centerlink was a special guest answering questions about the changes for same sex couples, following the recent legislation overhaul.

Some lazy Sunday arvo listening

Tune into the Fool and the Opera from 6pm tonight to hear the incredibly charming Dan take you on a learner's journey through the world of opera. This week, it's all about the new Melbourne Recital Centre. David Barmby (artistic administrator), David Young (composer), Merlyn Quaife (soprano), Ian McDougall (architect) and Paul Dyer (conductor) talk about the Melbourne Recital Centre and Peter Richie (marketing coordinator) takes our listeners on an audio tour of the shiny new venue. Merlyn Quaife will also talk about her performance next week of Schoenberg’s String Quartet No. 2 with Arditti Quartet: it’s gay poetry set to no key signature. We will also take the journey into foreign territory a bit further and explore John Cage’s avant garde work on silence and in memory of the victims of the Victorian bushfires we will start the show with a moment’s silence.

This Week on JOY

Paul Anthony the one man interviewing machine is bringing a diverse set of interviews with something for everyone...
Thursday at 1:45pm he'll be chatting to Cinzia about the Italian Lesbian Picnic at Fairfield Park on the 21st of February, Glass percussionist Eugene Ughetti will be dropping by at 2:45pm, and Beau will also drop in to talk about One Night in Heaven.

Stay tuned a bit later in the week because there's plenty more yet to be announced.
